How much can you get for switching to NatWest?

There are two NatWest deals at the moment. The first offers a fixed £200 for switching, up from £150 from the offer that just ended. If you go for a Premier account, you can get £250 for switching.

Who can get the NatWest switching offer?

New and previous NatWest customers can take advantage. You can only get the money with one of these accounts for the £200 offer:

  • Select
  • Reward

You cannot take advantage if you had a NatWest current account on 6 May 2026.

For the Premier account switch, you can only go with the Premier Reward account. You can’t have previously received a switch offer and did not hold a NatWest current account or savings account as of 10 March 2026.

With both accounts, you can only get one switching bonus per person, regardless of whether you have more than one solo or any extra joint accounts. Joint accounts are eligible for the offer.

What if you’ve previously had switching cash from NatWest group banks?

You won’t get the money if you’ve had any cash EVER from switching to any bank in the NatWest Group, which consists of RBS, Ulster Bank or NatWest. Previously, the cut-off date was 2020, but now it’s at any time.

It’s worth noting that in 2023 many readers reported in our Facebook group that they were able to get an offer from each bank in the group, despite the terms saying it wasn’t possible.

What are the requirements for the NatWest switching offer?

Select or Reward: £200 switching bonus

To get the £200 you need to:

  • Open one of the accounts listed above after 6 May 2026
  • Start a full switch via the Current Account Switch Service via the NatWest website or app
  • Switch from a non-NatWest group bank
  • Pay in £1,250 within 60 days of switching the account
  • Log in to mobile or app banking within 60 days of switching the account
  • Keep the account open until you’ve had the switching cash

That £1,250 deposit doesn’t need to be in one go, so you can add money across the qualifying period. It can even be the same smaller amount added and then withdrawn, so you can add it again. However, each single deposit (rather than the total £1,250) needs to be in the account for 24 hours.

The account switch can’t be from Ulster or RBS, or another NatWest account.

Note, the wording says that the 60 days begins when the switch completes.

Premier Reward: £250 switching bonus

You need to be eligible for the account, which we’ve detailed below.

To get the £250 you need to:

  • Open a Premier Reward account
  • Start a full switch via the Current Account Switch Service via the NatWest website or app
  • Switch from a non-NatWest group bank
  • Pay in £5,000 within 60 days of switching the account
  • Log in to mobile or app banking within 60 days of switching the account
  • Keep the account open until you’ve had the switching cash

That £5,000 deposit doesn’t need to be in one go, so you can add money across the qualifying period. It can even be the same smaller amount added and then withdrawn, so you can add it again. However, each single deposit (rather than the total) needs to be in the account for 24 hours.

Once again, the account switch can’t be from Ulster or RBS, or another NatWest account.

When will the money be paid?

The bonus will be paid to your account within 30 calendar days of meeting the above criteria.

The boosted interest is added to the digital regular saver every month.

When will the offer end?

Neither switch offer has an end date at the moment.

Which NatWest account should I choose?

Between the two reward accounts, most people are best off going for the standard Reward account. If you’ve got a couple of spare Direct Debits, adding them to the Reward account will earn you £4 a month. You’ll get another £1 for using your NatWest app each month. Deduct the £2 a month fee and you’ll make a profit of £3 a month, or £36 a year. It’s not the highest-paying account out there, but it’s worth nabbing if you are going to use NatWest.

Bear in mind that the monthly reward is paid to a separate Reward Wallet, so you’ll need to log in and withdraw it each month.

Is it worth switching to Natwest?

Zoe’s analysis

You’ll be ruled out from this offer if you got the cash for any switch offers in the past, but if you’re eligible, you should certainly consider it. If you’re eligible for the Premier account, it’s worth going for the higher switch offer, but there are actually higher offers available.

Not only can you get the free switching cash, but you’ll get £36 a year with the Reward account. You’ll also have access to a higher rate on the Digital Regular Saver.

It’s also good to see the stricter switch and stay conditions from a few years ago are gone, making it a very easy offer to nab – and then potentially move on from with another switch.

Are there better switching offers?

If you’re a repeat bank switcher then you might only be able to pick one or two options, but for complete newbies, you’ve got a few choices.
