Other ISA best rates
You can also get fixed rate cash ISAs. With these, you lock your money away for a set period in exchange for a slightly better interest rate. The rate is locked in as well, so you won’t be impacted by rates changing. There are also other types of ISA, including Stocks & Shares ISAs, Junior ISAs and Lifetime ISAs.

How do the rates for easy-access Cash ISAs work?
Easy-access Cash ISAs have a variable rate. This means the rate can change at any time, although there may be a fixed bonus on top of the underlying rate.
Watch out too for short welcome bonuses, though. These tend to make it seem like a rate is significantly better than it is and when these end, you’ll get the underlying rate which might be far lower than other options out there.
What are Cash ISAs?
ISAs, or Individual Savings Accounts, are tax free savings accounts, so you can earn interest on your savings without having to pay any tax on what you earn. They’re a popular choice, but aren’t the only way to earn interest without paying tax and they can still be worth looking at to get the best rates on your cash.
You can add up to £20,000 of new money each financial year across all ISAs you hold, however Lifetime ISAs are limited to £4,000 within that allowance. This £20k limit is known as your ISA allowance, and there are some rules to using one.
If you plan to move money from an existing ISA, it’s vital you transfer the money to the new ISA rather than withdraw it and then deposit it. Not all accounts allow transfers in, but we’ve included the information in our tables when they do.
